TS 200
The TS 200 is a handmade professionally styled oboe. All keywork is nickel/silver and bronze with a silver plate, mounted exclusively on silver steel rods. The use of silver steel rods throughout the instrument, replacing the traditional use of pivot screws, combined with revolutionary polycarbonate adjusting screws eliminating troublesome cork bumpers effectively keeps the instrument in perfect adjustment longer.
D Series
The TS 200 D Series instrument bodies are turned from a durable material called “Grenadon”. Grenadon behaves acoustically like wood and yet is completely stable to
both moisture and temperature. The stability of Grenadon together with extreme precision of manufacture has enabled the use of Dual ‘O’ Rings rather than cork for assembly of the body joints. This allows greater transmission of vibration throughout the instrument giving a bright tone as well as being physically easier to assemble.
W Series
The TS 200 W Series instrument bodies are turned from traditional Grenadilla wood seasoned in Australia for maximum stability and to suit the harshest climates. The bodies are not stained but enjoy their natural beauty and black/brown lustre. The TS 200 Series oboes will cater for the most advanced student with many features usually fund only on ‘professional’ models including: Professional style bore, undercut tone holes, Low C#/B link, Forked F Vent Key, Low Bb Vent
TS 5000
The TS 5000 is a handmade professional oboe. All keywork is nickel/silver and bronze with either silver or gold plating, mounted exclusively on silver steel rods. The use of silver steel rods throughout the instrument replaces the traditional use of pivot screws. This combined with revolutionary polycarbonate adjusting screws eliminating troublesome cork bumpers effectively keeps the instrument in perfect adjustment longer.
The TS 5000 features all standard professional keywork including: Long F; 3rd Octave key, Right hand Ab/Bb Trill. Each Oboe is individually crafted to order and we offer specialty keywork and altered layout facilities to suit your individual requirements.
The TS 5000 is available in Grenadilla wood for a traditional darker sound as well as Australian Mulga for players preferring a brighter, richer sound. Tom Sparkes oboe bodies are not stained in the traditional manner but enjoy their natural grained beauty. In the case of Australian Mulga a rich, golden lustre and in the case of Grenadilla the natural black and dark browns.
